Presnell (136-158)
28 03 2011The Internet sources available aren’t entirely reliable because not everything was authored by an expert in the field. I like how Presnell doesn’t limit her her suggested sites to those devoted to historical research. It was really interesting to learn the concept of Google bombing. It had me laughing to myself at the idea that even search engines have their own political agenda. Finally, once again, Presnell’s questions prove to be insightful and practical.

I also found it funny that search engines have their own agenda. But, if you think about it, it’s so true. Google didn’t invent itself! The internet can be tricky!
Google and Chinese relations have been a hot button topic in the past year and longer due to Google’s agenda and the Chinese government’s agenda. In the end, there is a conflict of issues due to Google’s belief of no censorship, and Chinese government principles. It’s a long living battle that will only continue into the future.
I’m not surprised Google has its own agenda. It’s all business, isn’t it? Even if we wish people were just giving us this information out of the goodness of their hearts, information isn’t really free.
